BOCF Sabbath Report – June 13, 2026
This Sabbath was a wonderful time of worship, fellowship, study, and reflection as we continued our series, “We Hold to This Doctrine.” In Part 3, Michael guided us through one of Christianity’s most discussed and foundational beliefs—the doctrine of the Trinity.
Rather than looking at the subject from only one perspective, Michael examined how various Christian traditions understand and teach the Trinity, including Catholic, Lutheran, Protestant, and Baptist viewpoints. By comparing these positions, we gained a clearer understanding of where different denominations stand and, more importantly, where our congregation stands in our beliefs.
The discussion challenged us to look beyond traditions and labels and return to Scripture as our authority. As believers, we are called to know what we believe, why we believe it, and to ensure our faith is grounded in God’s Word.
🎵 Songs of Worship
Our worship service was filled with heartfelt praise through song:
- Heart of Worship
- Greater ( Mercy Me)
- Blessed Be Your Name
- Awesome God ( Phil Wickham)
These songs helped prepare our hearts for worship and reminded us of God’s goodness, faithfulness, and sustaining grace.
📖 Message Summary
We Hold to This Doctrine – Part 3
Michael continued our doctrinal study by exploring the doctrine of the Trinity from several Christian perspectives. The message encouraged us to understand how different denominations approach this teaching while carefully examining what Scripture reveals.
The goal was not simply to compare beliefs but to strengthen our own biblical foundation. We were reminded that doctrine matters because it shapes how we understand God, worship Him, and share the gospel with others.
As a congregation, we seek to hold firmly to biblical truth while approaching these discussions with humility, grace, and a desire to grow in our understanding of God.
👧 Children’s Lesson
Devan taught the children about the Fourth Commandment:
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”
— Exodus 20:8
The lesson focused on why God set apart the Sabbath as a special day for worship, rest, and fellowship with Him. The children discussed practical ways they can honor God on the Sabbath and learned that the Sabbath is a gift designed to draw us closer to our Creator.
