Contrition and Confidence in the Psalms

This Sabbath was a meaningful time of worship, fellowship, and reflection as we gathered together in peace and gratitude before Yahweh. We were blessed to begin with one of our children giving a Scripture reading from the Book of Psalms, setting the tone beautifully for the message that followed. It was a joy to see the younger generation participating and growing in confidence in the Word.

Our speaker, LeighAnn, continued her study series with Contrition and Confidence: Part 2, guiding us through several Psalms that reveal the heart of repentance, mercy, trust, and restoration. Scriptures read included Psalm 6, Psalm 25, Psalm 32, Psalm 51, Psalm 85, Psalm 130, and Psalm 140.

Through these passages, we were reminded that true contrition is not despair, but humility before Yahweh—and confidence is not pride, but assurance in His mercy. The Psalms show us that even in weakness, failure, or distress, we can cry out to our Creator knowing He hears, forgives, restores, and leads His people in righteousness.

Psalm 51 especially reminded us that Yahweh desires a broken and contrite heart more than empty outward forms, while Psalm 130 called us to wait upon Him with hope. The message encouraged all present to walk in repentance, but also to stand firmly in faith, knowing Yahweh is faithful to those who seek Him.

Worship Songs From Today

We were blessed through song and praise during our gathering. You can listen to one of todays below:

Prayers Requested

Please continue lifting these needs before the Father:

  • Amanda and her family, as several are currently sick
  • Michael, who is also ill
  • Lisa’s friend, who is dealing with corneal dystrophy
  • Brianna Ransdell, who is pregnant and currently on antibiotics for a kidney infection and may need to be on them throughout the pregnancy.

May Yahweh bring healing, peace, strength, and comfort to each one.

Praises

We also give thanks for the blessings Yahweh has provided:

  • A grill was generously donated
  • We were able to begin moving certain needed items into the church building
  • Continued progress and preparation for the upcoming dedication

We praise Yahweh for His provision and for the hearts willing to serve.

Announcements

  • Visitors will be arriving Friday in preparation for next weekend’s dedication. Please keep all travel and preparations in prayer.
  • Yard sale items need to be collected and staged in the church office. If you have items to donate or can help organize, it would be greatly appreciated.

Closing Encouragement

This Sabbath reminded us that repentance and confidence belong together. When we humble ourselves before Yahweh, we do not remain cast down—we rise strengthened by His mercy. As it is written:

“The sacrifices of Elohim are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O Elohim, thou wilt not despise.” — Psalm 51:17

May we enter the coming week with both contrition and confidence before Him.
