Our History

Vaughn’s Chapel has a long history in Marshall County Kentucky, being one of the earliest churches built in this area by the Cumberland Presbyterians in the 1800’s and has been an established location for worship, prayer and praise and as a beacon of the Gospel and service to the community.

The church building had been home to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church members in the Calvert City/Possum Trot KY area for many, many decades under the stewardship of Pastor Wendell Ordway until 2023 in the aftermath of the Covid Pandemic. The presbytery was praying and hoping a congregation with the same goals and intentions would be willing to acquire the chapel and continue the work of Matthew 28:19-20.

The Body of Christ Fellowship Congregation is very pleased and honored to have Vaughn’s Chapel as our home to continue the work we are called to do by our Lord and Savior, Jesus The Christ, Our Messiah.

Our congregation has brethren with a long history with the Sabbatarian Churches of God who have been called out of the umbrella of larger corporate organizations to be independent and responsive to local needs and ministries our members have been called to serve in.

We also have brethren with histories in the Messianic movement joining us also and we hope all whom desire to build their faith, knowledge and walk with Christ will find an inviting home to worship together and serve as our Master leads us.

As we are being led by the Holy Spirit to grow into the Grace and Knowledge of Jesus Christ, we see the need to step outside policies and traditions that act as a barrier to helping others develop an intimate relationship with God, while building a family bond together as His Instruments to do His Work.
